A Peculiar Bond poem by Sanskriti Kansal beautifully expresses the unconditional love between a mother and her child. This motherhood poem highlights the emotions, care, and everlasting connection that make motherhood one of life’s most precious experiences.
Motherhood
Trapped in captivated moments,
Moments when you realize,
Realize that you have been smiling,
Smiling like an idiot thinking,
Thinking of someone in a way,
A way that leads you,
To an inertia of delirium.
But thinking about what?
About a soon-to-be mother;
As the time drew near,
I realized,
Realized I was wrong.
About what?
My beliefs.
I used to believe,
That having a child is a responsibility.
But no!
I was wrong.
Oh! Now I understood,
That it is a feeling of love,
Which can never pass into nothingness.
It is a time,
A time, I believe,
When eternal becomes another word for love.
A moment of pure feeling,
Holding my child in my arms,
Is so beautiful!
I want this feeling to be,
As permanent as the skies.
All things within this fading world have an end,
But this feeling is another meaning of immortality.
